Choosing My Civic Engagement Strand

Today I spent the morning researching and learning about different paths I could pursue for civic engagement.  As soon as I saw the technology and science strand, I knew I wanted to do it.  I explored the websites listed on the strand and I was really interested in The Center for Democracy & Technology.  The whole website embodies the issue of technology when it is applied to safety and privacy.  Personally, I would really like to learn a lot more about drones.  I think that I will have a very successful experience in civic engagement with this topic.  It is definitely a hard topic, especially because I am such an advocator for technology.  It is going to be challenging learning about online civil liberties and where the internet should have a place in a person's life and where it shouldn't be.  I am excited to pursue this topic and have amazing experiences!
